MMM...Manila Wafers

Hi-diddily ho, Bloggers here's your latest installment of blog theatre. So, we are open and the show is going swimmingly- good houses, great audience reaction and the show is short- 2:30 with intermission- so the show goes quickly. Even two show days are not too bad, but the restaurants around the venue are getting old. Luckily, there are less than two weeks left before we head off to China. We just miss the Olympics, which is fine, as we will not be in Beijing for about six weeks. The nice thing is the city should be in good shape when we get there but the tourists will have been gone for weeks, so it's the best of all worlds. The chances of scoring tix to the Olympics would have been slim to none anyway, so it seems all for the best.

In other news, I got met and got my picture taken with Imelda Marcos a few weeks ago- go to my Facebook page and friend me to see it- and the President of the Philippines is reported seeing the show soon, so I'll try and finagle another photo-op with her. Maybe I'll get wrestled to the ground by the Secret Service. Either way, it's going to be fun! We had the V.P. in last week, but I had to go to lunch so I missed that one. Ho-hum...

As with previous tours, the Internet in China is a big question mark, trumped by the fact that blogs are notorious for being difficult to maintain on the mainland. That being said...or written as the case may be, I will try and post one more blog entry before leaving the Philippines so your yen, or yuan (heh-heh) for blog filled protein will be satisfied. Be careful though, as blogs are not a significant source of Iron. Lots of sugar, though...

Well, here's to you and yours and per usual, thanks for the eyeballs and the comments and may your next adventure be filled with excitement and your shorts be clean- unless that's what your into, having an adventure and all. (Sorry, the Tylenol PM is kicking in.) 'Til next time!

If The Shoe Fits...

Friends, Romans, Bloggers, lend me your eyes. We are officially out of previews and open tomorrow night for a paying/non-preview audience. In reality, the show has been set for a few days, but the artistic staff(director, choreographer, designers, etc.) are leaving Saturday and the show hands off to the dance captain and stage manager. We are all going to miss the staff greatly, as they have been supportive, talented, skilled, wonderful bosses. Regardless of how wonderful the show is, and it really is, they have been extraordinary human beings as well. We will sorely miss their guidance and expertise and friendly countenances.

Some exciting news- The President of the Philippines along with, the reason that our venue-the Cultural Center of the Philippines(CCP)- exists, Miss Imelda Marcos, will be in attendance on Friday. Our costume designer Renato has designed for her in the past and, seeing as we are in her native land starring one of its' biggest stars, there she'll be. I'll try and get a photo with her in the fancy schmancy new duds I bought for the opening night party-with my poker spoils from this week's favorable outcome.

OK, enough for now, but I will update y'all very soon with news of the opening night exploits and the state Mrs. Marcos' footwear(isn't the irony of performing this particular show delicious? Just let it sink in a bit...)

Ta for now!
